Agarwal Samaj of Austin (ASAT) welcomes all descendants of Maharaja Agrasen and Maharani Madhavi — collectively known as the Agrawal community — to come together and build a stronger, more connected community across Austin and Central Texas.
The name “Agrawal” itself reflects our proud heritage — derived from “Agra” (referring to Agrasen) and “wal” (meaning “descendant” or “son”). Together, it signifies “Sons of Agrasen”, honoring the lineage of a visionary king whose principles continue to inspire generations.
Maharaja Agrasen, a revered Suryavanshi ruler of Aghora, is celebrated as the founder of the Agrawal and Agrahari communities in India. He built his kingdom on the timeless ideals of equality, non-violence, compassion, and collective prosperity — values that earned him deep respect and love from his people.
At ASAT, we strive to uphold these same ideals — fostering unity, fairness, and kindness within our community. Through cultural events, charitable initiatives, and shared celebrations, we aim to honor our heritage, connect generations, and bring families together in the true spirit of Maharaja Agrasen’s vision.
